The third concert of the 2010-2011 Season is
Intersection Trio
on Sunday, November 14, 2010:

Intersection Trio was formed in 1998 and since then have forged a powerful connection with audiences world-wide. Soulful expression, instrumental virtuosity, playful banter – these are the hallmarks of an Intersection Trio event, in which the realms of concert and popular music are seamlessly dovetailed.

With its versatility, its engaging stage manner, and its unique mixing of trio, duo and solo formats, Intersection Trio has won a large and avid international fan base: in Japan alone, each of the group's numerous CDs and DVDs has shot to the top of the classical and crossover charts.

Ranging from a Piazzolla tango to a Jobim bossa nova, from a West Side Story melody to a gossamer Mendelssohn scherzo, an evening spent with the Intersection Trio is an unforgettable one for any audience.

Some press reviews of Intersection Trio's performances:

Intersection is a piano trio, but its concerts are unlike any that I have heard by other like ensembles. Accessible appears to be the key word in their program building. Traditional piano trio repertoire is present, but those works are balanced by compositions that are lighter, shorter, and readily understood and enjoyed. Besides trios, the programs also included duos and solo works.

The members of Intersection play with exuberance and verve. Their dynamic range is broad, and changes in dynamics are instantaneous yet natural sounding. The overall tone is full and unbridled. There is in their playing drama and excitement, but there is also joy, a love of music and a love of playing together. They are giving a concert, but they are also having fun.
